01 Plain-English version
You're buying a license to use the PDF guide and STL files for your personal projects — print as many towers as you want for yourself, your family, your friends, your classroom. You can't resell the files. You can't sell 3D-printed copies of the towers commercially. You can't post the files online for others to download. If you want to sell printed towers as a side business, that's awesome — but you need a separate commercial license. Contact me.
02 Definitions
- "Digital Products" means the PDF guides, STL files, 3MF files, technical drawings, instructional videos, and any other digital files we sell or include with a purchase.
- "Licensor" means Custom Hydroponic Solutions (the workshop in Woodstock, GA).
- "Licensee" / "You" means the individual or organization that purchased the Digital Products.
- "Personal use" means non-commercial use by you, your immediate household, classroom (if you're an educator), or close friends — printing for yourself or others without payment.
- "Commercial use" means anything where money changes hands in exchange for the printed parts or the underlying files.
03 License granted to you
Subject to your continued compliance with this EULA and the Terms of Service, Licensor grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, worldwide, royalty-free license to use the Digital Products for Personal Use only.
This license is granted to the individual person or single organization listed on the original order. The license is not transferable — you can't sell or gift the license to someone else along with your computer or external drive.
04 What you can do
- 3D print as many towers as you want for yourself, your household, your classroom, or as personal gifts
- Modify the STL files for your own personal use (longer, shorter, more pods, different mounting)
- Print in any material that's safe for your application (food-safe PETG recommended)
- Reference the guide in your own personal blog, social media posts, or YouTube videos, including showing what you built — with credit and a link to customhydroponicsolutions.com
- Use the guide as a reference in your STEM classroom (with one purchase per teacher)
- Make personal backup copies on your own devices
- Reselling the files, in whole or part, anywhere — Etsy, eBay, Patreon, your own site, file-sharing services, anywhere
- Selling printed towers commercially using these STL files (see commercial license option below)
- Removing or tampering with the watermark, order ID, or copyright notices
- Uploading the STL files to Thingiverse, Printables, MakerWorld, or any other public 3D-print repository
- Sharing the PDF or STL files with anyone outside your immediate household — every person who wants the files must buy their own license
- Using the files as training data for AI/ML models without written permission
- Claiming the design as your own or stripping credit
05 What you can't do (in detail)
No resale of files
You may not, under any circumstances, sell, lease, sublicense, rent, distribute, post, transmit, or share the Digital Products with any third party who has not purchased their own license. This applies to the PDF, the STL files, derivatives of the STL files, and anything substantially similar.
No commercial printing
You may not 3D print these designs and sell the printed parts (or assembled towers) without a separate Commercial License from us. See Section 7. Selling a single tower you printed for a friend at-cost is fine. Running a side business printing and selling them is not.
No public re-uploading
Do not post the STL files anywhere publicly accessible, including but not limited to: Thingiverse, Printables, MakerWorld, Cults3D, GitHub, Google Drive shared links, Discord servers, or any file-sharing service.
No AI training
You may not use, license, sell, or otherwise make the Digital Products available as training data for machine-learning models or generative-AI systems without our prior written permission.
06 Watermarking
Every PDF download we provide is watermarked with your name, email, and a unique order identifier. If a leaked copy appears publicly, we can trace it back to the original purchaser. Sharing leaked copies is both a violation of this EULA and a violation of U.S. copyright law (which can carry statutory damages of up to $150,000 per infringement plus attorneys' fees).
STL files include embedded metadata identifying the license holder. Removing or tampering with this metadata is a material breach of this EULA.
07 Commercial license option
If you want to print and sell towers commercially — at a farmer's market, on Etsy, at craft fairs, or as part of a business — we offer a Commercial License. Pricing depends on volume:
- Maker tier (up to 25 units sold per year): one-time fee, typically $99-149.
- Small business tier (up to 250 units per year): one-time or annual fee, typically $299-499.
- Enterprise tier (unlimited): contact for quote.
The commercial license requires using your own branding (you can't represent that you are Custom Hydroponic Solutions), maintaining attribution to the original design, and a few other reasonable terms we'll agree in a separate written agreement. Email sales@customhydroponicsolutions.com with "Commercial License" in the subject line.
08 Updates & future versions
Lifetime free updates are included with every purchase. When we release improved STL files, expanded PDF chapters, new accessory designs, or bug fixes, you get them for free. We email update notifications to the email address on your original order.
Updates are delivered through the same download link or via a fresh emailed link. You may use the updated files under the same license terms.
09 Copyright & ownership
Custom Hydroponic Solutions retains all copyright, design rights, and other intellectual property in the Digital Products. Buying a license does not transfer ownership. This EULA grants only the limited rights described in Section 3.
All trademarks, trade names, and logos remain the exclusive property of their respective owners.
10 Warranty disclaimer
The Digital Products are provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. Licensor makes no representations or warranties that the Digital Products will be error-free, that printed parts will perform as expected in your specific environment, or that the Digital Products are fit for any particular purpose.
You are responsible for verifying that printed parts are safe for your intended use, including food-contact safety, electrical safety, and structural integrity. Licensor is not liable for damage caused by failed prints, improper assembly, or misuse — see Terms §12 (Limitation of Liability).
11 Termination
This EULA is effective until terminated. We may terminate it immediately if you violate any of its terms. Upon termination:
- Your right to use the Digital Products ends immediately.
- You must destroy all copies of the Digital Products in your possession, including printed parts that were produced from the STL files.
- Sections 8 (Copyright), 9 (Warranty), and 11 (Termination) survive termination.
We may pursue any remedies available under law for violations of this EULA, including injunctive relief and damages.
