Hydroponics is way simpler than the YouTube algorithm makes it look. Here's the entire loop, end to end.
Print the parts at home with the DIY guide, or unbox a complete kit. Everything you need is in the box or in the file.
Drop the submersible pump in the reservoir, run the food-grade tubing up the tower, and snap the top cap on. No tools required.
Net cups in slots, hydroponic foam plugs, drop in seedlings or seeds, mix nutrient solution per our chart, fill the reservoir.
Lettuce and herbs in 3-5 weeks. Strawberries 6-10. Top up the reservoir weekly, harvest, repeat. That's the whole loop.
Pick a tower size, pump wattage, and tubing length — we'll estimate plant capacity, water use, and the right pump model. No commitment, no signup.
No fluff, no influencer YouTube nonsense. The exact knowledge I'd give a friend buying their first pump.
Nutrient solutions, EC and pH, light spectrum, the three things most beginners get wrong, and the 5 plants you should grow first. The single best place to start.
Flow rate, head height, watts, IPX rating — explained in plain English with our 3-step formula.
EC and pH targets for lettuce, basil, strawberries, peppers, and 8 more. Print it and tape it next to your tower.
Symptom → cause → fix. The 9 most common things that go wrong in week 2-4 and how to spot them early.
Lesson plans, hands-on builds, and bulk pricing for schools. Biology, sustainability, and food systems in one project.

Can't find your answer? Ask real growers in our Discord — someone's always there.
None at all. Our towers are designed so a total beginner can be growing in under an hour. Every kit comes with a step-by-step setup guide, and our YouTube channel covers everything from first fill to first harvest.
If you get stuck, drop a question in #ask-a-grower on Discord — someone will reply fast.
Leafy greens thrive best — lettuce, spinach, kale, arugula, Swiss chard, herbs like basil, mint, cilantro, and parsley. These grow fast and love the constant moisture.
Strawberries also do great. Tomatoes and peppers are possible in larger towers but need more support. Stay away from root vegetables (carrots, radishes) — they need soil depth.
Very little. Our HSB-750 pump (15W) costs roughly $1–2/month to run continuously. Even the largest HSB-950B (35W) is under $5/month. The tower itself uses no power — only the pump does.
We recommend running the pump on a timer: 15 min on, 45 min off. This cuts power use further and actually produces healthier root systems.
16-pod tabletop → HSB-750 (15W, 1000 L/h) — more than enough flow for a compact tower.
32-pod base tower → HSB-950 (25W, 1500 L/h) — the pump included in every kit, ideal flow rate.
40-pod premium → HSB-950B (35W, 2000 L/h) — handles the extra height and pod count without straining.
All three are IPX8 waterproof, food-grade ABS, 110V US plug, and include tubing.
Top off water every 2–4 days depending on plant size and temperature. Do a full reservoir change every 1–2 weeks to prevent salt buildup.
Nutrients go in at every water change — mix to the recommended EC level for your crop (usually 1.2–2.0 for leafy greens). The DIY guide includes a full nutrient chart by plant type.
Yes — patios, balconies, decks, and covered porches all work great. The towers are printed in food-safe PETG which handles UV and heat well.
Avoid leaving the pump or timer exposed to direct rain. If you're in a climate with hard freezes, bring the system in over winter or drain it fully.
Hydroponics feeds plants with a nutrient solution you mix yourself. Precise, fast-growing, great for beginners.
Aquaponics uses fish waste as the nutrient source — fish feed the plants, plants clean the water. More complex but fully self-sustaining once dialed in. Our #aquaponics channel is a great place to learn more.
